What we know, who can see it, and what we refuse to do
Your child's account lives inside your family and nowhere else. Here is exactly what that means, including the parts that are still limited.
Nobody messages your child
There is no chat, no comments, no direct messages, and no way for one family to contact another. A tutor cannot message your child. An activity organiser cannot message your child. Otakids does not carry messages at all — when you enquire about a tutor, you email or call them yourself.
Your child signs in without your password
A child gets in with a family code and their own name, or by pairing their own device with a six-character code that works once and expires in ten minutes. You never hand over your password.
Parent screens sit behind a four-digit PIN, so a child holding the tablet cannot approve their own chores.
A tutor sees what to teach
Only children you have explicitly linked, and only their learning. Not your chores, rewards, billing or other children.
An organiser sees a register
The children booked onto their own session, and nothing else. No parent names, no emails, no phone numbers.
Reviews are checked
Nothing a stranger writes goes public until a person has read it, and anyone can report what did.
Photos are private
A chore photo is stored privately, readable only by your family, and never appears anywhere public.
What we never show a child
No rank, no percentile, no comparison to another child, and no IQ — on the learning side, the thinking check, or the growth tracker. A check result is described as a snapshot, not a verdict, because that is what it is.
Where this is still limited
Being honest about the edges: a device your child has paired stays paired until they sign out on it — there is no remote “remove this device” yet. And verification documents for tutors and activity organisers are reviewed by hand, not automatically.
Deleting everything
You can delete your account from inside the app. If you are the only adult on the family, that removes the family and every child with it. Details are in the privacy policy.
Ready when you are
Setting up takes about five minutes, and you can add one child to start.
